Watch out, I'm nourished!!

Back from the most amazing time at the AAP Southern Region Conference at Tybee Island. Yes, I snapped lots of pictures and I'll get to those tomorrow. For now, I'd like to share this poem that I found over the weekend. I've heard it before some where but never has it seemed so prevalent to me:

Our Deepest Fear By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us;
It’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we’re liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

le sigh..my cup runneth over...

I heard that for the first time during my freshman year of college.

It's amazing, empowering, and so very true.

I have this, only attributed to Nelson Mandela's 1994 inaguaral speech. I have also heard it attributed to Maya Angelou. Wonder who really did say it first......love it, tho.

It was written by Marianne Williamson and made very popular after being used in the movie Coach Carter. It was recited by Cruz one of Carter's players. Carter kept asking the question "what is your deepest fear? Cruz finally figured it out.
