Whew!

So yesterday, while people were enjoying the 4th and their families, I was on the phone with travelocity.

As many of you know, I am headed to Seattle in a week and a half and booked the trip back in March. Since then, AirTran has moved the flight times twice, leaving me with less than 45 minutes to catch the connecting flight from Atlanta to Seattle. This would be fine if it was at like..oh..2 in the afternoon. But it was going to be around 9:30 at night..and if I missed it, well..La'Fru would be spending the night in the ATL airport.

So instead of worrying about it, I took a chance and called the nice peeps at Travelocity and explained to them my concerns..yadda..yadda. They were sympathetic and told me that since AirTran had changed their schedule, I could request an earlier flight at no charge!! WORD!

So girlfriend is headed to Seattle from Charlotte on July 17th..I leave at 3:30 from Charlotte, rock out in ATL for about an hour..hop the flight to Seattle around 6:00 PM. I can definitely deal with that!!

So snaps for nice people understanding me!! and my needs. I am awesome, I am pretty, I am kind!! I'm trying to say these things so they will sink in!

Here's one of my favorite poems by Maya Angelou. La'Fru adores Maya Angelou!!

PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.

I say
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.

I say
It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth
The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.

I say
It's in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.

I say
It's in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair
The palm of my hand
The need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.
