Season of Thanks

Reclaiming my tradition from last year, I shall report something that I am thankful for every day this month. For those of you who don't know, this is my favorite time of year. I like it better than Christmas for bunches of reasons. I like it for the sights, smells, and gratitude.

So...

Yesterday I was thankful for family. Six and a half years ago, I married into an amazing family. A family that loves openly, and laughs heartily. A family that grieved together for the loss of their brother, Unc. The service was nice and the graveside ceremony was moving, down to the shots fired in Unc's honor by the honor guard from the Army. My Unc was an MP in the Army for 20 years..I found this out yesterday from my big sis, Sherrie. Here's another great thing about this family that I married into: You are theirs. I'm not my Mama's daughter-in-law..I'm her daughter.."my girl" she calls me..and it warms my heart so. Sherrie is not my sister-in-law, she's my sister. Unc is not Cooter's uncle..he's my Uncle Tumbleweed. That is good stuff, I tell ya...good stuff.

Today I am grateful for, "Fall back, spring forward". An extra hour to sleep, tinker, putter, read, blog, goof around on ravelry and be home with my family.

That's all I've got for a Sunday! La'Fru, out!

Wendy, I thought I was " cried out" from Fri and Sat but when i read your sweet blog, i started all over again..You are " my girl "
I kept looking for you Sat. To make sure you were close, that you were with the rest of the family, I kept asking Sherrie, Where is Wendy ?..She would say, right behind you..Thank you for being part of " our" family
